2010 had witnessed many big-budgeted movies from Pawan Kalyan's Puli to Ram Charan's Orange , from NTR's Adhurs to Balakrishna's Simha , from Allu Arjun'sVarudu to Prabhas's Darling , and from Mahesh Babu's Khaleja to Nagarjuna'sRagada. But most of them didn't do well at the box-office. So, here we present the movies that brought smiles on the faces of the producers and distributors.
1.Simha
This Balakrishna starrer raked in about Rs 37 Crores and stood at No.1 position among all the straight Telugu films. Before Simha, Balakrishna had almost 11 flops in a row. Yet, he the star could bounce back with this movie. Perhaps, this is by far most profitable movie in 2010.
Result: Blockbuster
2. Robot
Rajnikant's smash hit, Robot, equally collected unheard of amounts for a dubbed movie. Finally it grossed about Rs 36 Crores. More The film could have collected even more if the producer planned it properly. But in Nizam its share is about 18 Crores much higher than Simha.
Result: Blockbuster
3. Maryada Ramanna
Rajamouli's Maryada Ramanna is a big hit for a medium-budgeted movie. Made with Rs 15 Crores, the movie collected in the range of Rs 26 - 28 Crores. And it established the fact that Rajamouli can deliver hits with any star or non-star.
Result: Blockbuster
4. Brindavanam
NTR's Brindavanam stands at 2nd place. The movie collected nearly Rs 34 Crores. The only hitch is that it was made with a huge budget, so the margin of profits for the producer Dil Raju was not that good.
Result: Super Hit
5. Darling
Prabhas's Darling received mixed reviews and but the youthfulness of the content and songs helped the movie collect about Rs 20 Crores. In Nizam, it did more than Rs 7 Crores.
Result: Super hit
6. Ye Maaya Chesave
Gautam Menon's Ye Maaya Chesave won great reviews and was appreciated by one and all because of the heart touching moments, Rehman's fantastic music, innovative narration and great chemistry of the lead pair. So the film made at Rs 9 Crores collected more than Rs 14 Crores. It is first hit to Naga Chaitanya.
Result: Super Hit
7. Betting Bangarraju
This comedy film was a surprise hit. Produced by Usha Kiron Movies, Betting Bangarraju is the only hit movie to Allari Naresh in 2010. The movie raked in about Rs 7-8 Crores.
Result: Hit
Above average and average movies ..
1. Adhurs
Adhurs started on flying start but the movie faltered in the second week and thereby ending at Rs 26 Crores only.
Result: Above average.
2. Bindaas
Before Bindaas , Manchu Manoj never tasted success. Although Bindaas was not profitable venture to the producers, the movie's revenue was fantastic for a Manoj starrer movie.
Result: Average
3. Shambo Shiva Shambo
Remake of Nadodigal, a Tamil movie, Shambo Shiva Shambo, picked up slowly and it brought good collections as the weeks passed by thanks to word of mouth publicity.
Result: Average
4. Golimaar
Puri Jagannadh and Gopichand's first combo - Golimaar - didn't receive good reviews but the movie went on to become average grocer.
Result: Average
5. Jhummandi Naadam
Director K Raghavendra Rao's style of glamour and newcomer Tapsee's uninhibited skin show brought in male audiences to the movie. It collected nearly 8 Crores but the budget was equally high.
Result: Average
6. Rakta Charitra
Ram Gopal Varma's violent movie Rakta Charitra 1 stirred controversy and that did draw the audiences. But the second part ended up being a flop movie.

NOTE: Venaktesh's Nagavalli and Nagarjuna's Ragada both are doing pretty well and they collected huge openings. But their box-office range can only be gauged in 2011.
